Kurzurlaub nach Feierabend / After work vacation

Was machen die eigentlich nach der Arbeit? Sie fahren nach Coronado – kleine, schnuckelige Insel vor der Stadt- nehmen eine Decke mit, kaufen frisch Gegrilltes, setzen sich an den Strand, schmausen und geniessen den Blick auf die Skyline San Diego’s bei ca. der Jahreszeit entsprechenden 21°C im Sonnenuntergang. Macht schon Spass! Unverschaemt grins! So wird aus dem Feierabend ein Kurzurlaub. Genial!

What do they do after work? They go to Coronado – small and nice isle at the gates of the city- take a picnic rug, buy fresh grilled dishes, sit on the beach, banquet and enjoy the skyline of San Diego at sun down at seasonable temperatures of 70°F. That’s fun! Grin like a Cheshire cat! So our after work time seems to be vacation. Awesome!

Ueberflutung…/ Flood…

Macht Euch keine Sorgen, die Ueberflutungen Californiens haben San Diego in keiner Weise betroffen!Tief durchatmen- da sind wir gleich beim Thema. Ich komme gerade von der Arbeit nach einem wirklich langen Arbeitstag. Damit habe ich meinen Heimweg erstmals weder bei Sonnenschein, noch Zwielicht sondern so richtig im Finstern angetreten. Das bedeutet meine Fahrt ging schoen auf der Autobahn lang bei gemuetlichen 105 km/h (Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzung) mitten durch die Innenstadt. Ja, wie geil ist das denn! Ein buntes Lichterspektakel zum Geniessen und das Ganze uebrigens bei 20°C um 20:30 Uhr!!! Na, schon neidisch?!Der Tag war gigantisch, zugegeben vieeeeeeeeeel Arbeit und noch mehr geschafft! Ich kann unser Website Launch gar nicht mehr erwarten. Bin derart stolz Teil dieses gigantischen Teams zu sein und an der Website mit rumzuwerkeln. Vor ein paar Wochen konnte ich das alles noch nicht, was doch so eine befriedigende Arbeitsatmosphaere alles ausmacht, gell? Morgen ist es hoffentlich soweit, fuehle mich so ein bisschen wie nach ner kurzen Schwangerschaft und morgen ist Geburtstag! Wahnsinn!
Zurueck ins Auto- fahre also ein bisschen muede, hungrig und total befriedigt nach Hause und da laeuft doch unsere Musik im Radio. Ich rede gerade von meinen Berliner Freundinnen – Miss Claire, Miss Laura, Miss Vivienne, Miss Marlene und Miss Cecilie! Ich war gedanklich sofort im K6 mit Euch und am Schwofen. Und…….weil meine Sehnsucht nach Euch gesiegt hat, am Schluchzen. … ich vermisse Euch derart….
Das heisst kurz zusammengefasst: Ueberflutung mit Gefuehlen, Betroffene waren meine Gedanken, mein Herz, meine Seele – eben die ganze Trulla!
Wisst Ihr eigentlich, wie irre das Gefuehl ist vor Freude zu heulen?! Tut erstmal weh, ist aber dann sowas von Klasse! Ich habe so tolle Kollegen, so tolle Freunde und eine so tolle Familie (Glueckwunsch MJ zu den bestandenen Pruefungen! Bin stolz auf Dich!) und einen soooooooo tollen Mann- der stellt mir gerade mein Futter auf den Tisch! Ich liebe Dich!

Take a deep breath – stick to the topic. I am coming home after a pretty long workday right now.
Thereby I went home not with sunshine, not at twilight but in darkness. It means I drove cozy 65mph (speed limit) on the interstate through downtown. That was awesome! A huge light spectacle and this with 69°F at 8:30 pm. Yeah, jealous?
The day was staggering, I have to admit a loooooooooooot of work and still more results.
I am that impatient to launch our new website. I am that proud to be a part of this amazing team and to contribute to this project. I wasn’t able to do this week ago. It is a result of these work atmospheres there, isn’t it? It’s happening tomorrow. I am feeling a little bit like at the end of a short pregnancy and tomorrow is birthday! Awesome!

Short summary – Overwhelmed with feelings, involved parties were my thought, my heart, my soul, and my eyes – even the whole Trulla!
Do you know the feeling crying regarding happiness? First there is a pain and then it is awesome!
I have got that unbelievable colleagues, cute friends and such a awesome family (Congrats to your passed exams MJ! I am proud of you!), and such a looooooooovely husband who is serving my dinner at the moment. I love you!

Spenden Erste Hilfe / Fundraising emergency

Wir haben ein Problem zu loesen. Einige von Euch wollten spenden und es hat nicht geklappt auf die beschriebene Weise. Zum Teil liegt es an der Website und zum anderen daran, dass nicht alle Karten akzeptiert werden.

Wer? Wie? Was?
Na, irgendetwas muss ich ja tun, um Euch wach zu machen! Hallo, noch irgendwer da drauuuuuuuuuuuussen???? Nehmt Ihr alles so kommentarlos hin? Rabaeh! Ich will Blogpost Post! Ich will Kuehe (interner Familienwitz…).
Im Ernst- der amerikanische Arbeitsmarkt ist entjungfert- zumindest fuer mich! Wahnsinn! Erinnert Ihr Euch an das Gefuehl, das erste Mal selbst verdientes Geld nach Hause getragen zu haben? War das nicht oberaffengeil?
So ging es mir heute! Ganz abgesehen davon, dass mir meine Arbeit irre Spass macht in einem solchen Team, ist es schon ein tolles Gefuehl, die erste amerikanische Gehaltsabrechnung nach Hause zu bringen. Und – Deutschland sei vorbereitet – Abzuege 22% insgesamt!!! In Worten „zweiundzwanzig“- kein Witz. Und alles schon drin Einkommenssteuer, Sozialversicherung, Califonia Steuer, Medicare Steuer und Arbeitslosen/Erwerbsunfaehigkeitsversicherung! Unglaublich!
Ausserdem goennt man sich dieses Gefuehl hier aller 2 Wochen!
Warte immer noch auf den grossen Knall, und ich wache auf aus diesem schoenen Traum- ich traeume uebrigens farbig und englisch!
Morgen ist dann Miramar Flugshow dran- Top Gun laesst gruessen!
Und Sonntag feiern wir Oktoberfest in El Cajon mit Freunden- zuenftig im Gwand wie sich‘s g’hert.

Anyway, I have to do something to wake you up! Hi, somebody still out there? Do you accept all that without comment? Boo-hoo! I want blog post mails! I want cows (that’s an internal family joke…).Seriously – the American job market is deflowered – at least for me! Awesome! Can you remember the feeling carrying money home for the first time? It was awesome, wasn’t it?
I felt like this today. Besides I really enjoy my work in such a great team it is a wonderful feeling to bring the first check stub home. And – Germany be prepared – only 22% deductions!!! In letters “twenty two”- I am not kidding. And everything is included – Federal income tax, Social Security tax, CA State Income tax, Medicare tax, and SUI/SDI tax! Unbelievable!
Furthermore they enjoy it every other week!
I am still waiting for the big bang and I would awake from this beautiful dream – after all I am dreaming in colors and in English!
We are heading to the air show in Miramar tomorrow – greetings from Top Gun!We are going to celebrate the Oktoberfest in El Cajon with friends on Sunday – properly dressed in leather trousers and dirndl as is right and proper.
